GATE 14

FAQ'S About Gate 14 Counseling Program
QUESTION: WHAT IS THE COST OF THE GATE 14 COUPLES COUNSELING PROGRAM?
Each session costs $125.00 per couple. There are a total of six counseling sessions that occur during
the lifespan of the program. A workbook is provided to each participant to be used during the sessions.
The cost of 2SC's Gate 14 program is considerably less than what many counselors charge for
traditional couples counseling.
QUESTION: HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION LAST AND WHEN DO THEY OCCUR?
Each session is generally one hour. The dates and times of your sessions are completly up to you. In
other words, you, your significant other and your counselor decide what dates and times work best
that fit into your schedule. Also, this is not group counseling - only the couple and counselor are present.
QUESTION: CAN I USE MY INSURANCE TO PAY FOR THE GATE 14 COUNSELING PROGRAM?
Most insurance programs do not offer "premarital counseling" benefits. Please check with your insurance
provider to discover what, if any, premarital counseling benefits may be available. At your request, your
counselor can provide you a reciept, which in turn you can submit to your insurance company for possible
reimbursement (again check with your insurance company first). You may also be able to apply the
fees for Gate 14 towards your employer sponsored health savings account. Please check with your
human resources department to ask if premarital counseling is a covered health savings expense.
QUESTION: IS GATE 14 RELIGIOUS IN NATURE OR PROMOTE RELIGIOUS VIEWS?
No. 2SC'S Gate 14 program is not religious in nature and does not promote any religious views.
The program does however allow room for the couple to explore what role (if any) spirituality might
play in the relationship as defined by the couple. It is completely up to the couple to decide if they
would like to explore this topic. Many couples find discussions with regard to spirituality very helpful,
particularly if each person comes from a different religious or spiritual background.
QUESTION: HOW IS GATE 14 DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I MIGHT FIND ELSEWHERE?
Gate 14 differs from other pre-marital/pre-committment counseling programs in that the sessions occur
in a non-religious environment, with therapists who are trained in the areas of counseling, psychotherapy
and marriage/family therapy. The specific fourteen areas that are explored in the counseling program
are not always examined by others. Also, only you, your significant and your counselor partake in each session. All meetings with your counselor are strictly confidential.
