What is 2SC?
John D. Moore, LCPC, CADC                         
Co-Founder - Psychotherapist
Moore earned a dual Master of Science degree in Community Health & Wellness Promotion from California College for Health Sciences and a Masters in Psychology from Northcentral University. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and is board certified in addictions counseling. His background includes serving on staff at various social services agencies as a counselor and case manager where he provided counseling services and support to individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. He is author of the successful book, Confusing Love with Obsession (Hazelden) and is a nationally syndicated writer. Moore is also an associate professor of health sciences at American Military University, instructing courses in health, psychology, stress management and wellness.

Thomas E. Fransen, LCSW
Co-Founder - Psychotherapist
Fransen holds an undergraduate from Marquette University and a masters of social work from the University of Chicago. He has worked in a variety of environments, including outpatient psychotherapy settings and residential facilities. Additionally, he has offered his services as a medical social worker to various organizations, specializing in helping individuals, couples and families impacted by various health challenges, including HIV disease, cancer, substance abuse and other health related concerns.  He has an office at 2SC where he works with clients.

Greg received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Park University in 1998 and his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2002. He is a board certified AODA Counselor and has strong experience working with adults with a variety of needs including substance abuse problems, anxiety and depression as well as relationship issues. In addition to this work, Greg is an affiliated IAC Career Coach as well as an Associate Professor in the Management Department at American Public University. He works with clients to explore new career paths, take on entrepreneurial challenges, and navigate the uncertain and stressful process of changing jobs.  Greg uses 2 S C office space to work with clients.

Alexandra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earned her Bachelor of Science from DePaul University and Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.  She is a conversational therapist and empathic and intuitive listener allowing her to hone in on client strengths and clarify concepts and patterns of thinking. This interactive approach creates a partnership with the client necessary for development of goals, healthy boundaries, and empowerment of the client for change.  Directly communicating client strengths and modeling new behavior offers the client the opportunity to achieve milestones leading to increased self-esteem and more satisfying relationships.  Alexandra believes understanding one’s challenges and roadblocks open the door to new attitudes as well as interest in changing our behaviors. JAMES L. LAWYER, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and a board- certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist.  A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Mr. Lawyer has more than 30 years of counseling experience and has consulted with agencies, schools and corporations. He sees individuals and couples at his office located in Chicago's Ravenswood area.
Vanessa Ford, LCSW, CADC *

Vanessa is a licensed clinical social worker and is certified in addictions counseling.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Chicago and her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.  She brings a variety of experience to the practice of psychotherapy, including EMRDR, healing from past trauma and losses, work with the LGBT&Q community, group therapy, life coaching (including career counseling), work with children and families, chronic illness (including HIV), recovering from behavioral/chemical addictions, and emotional issues such as anxiety, Bipolar and depression. Her office is directly adjacent to 2SC, and she has created a therapeutic experience that is warm and inviting.

Costa Provis, LCPC *

Costa holds a masters degree in professional counseling from the
Illinois School of Professional Psychology and is a licensed clinical
professional counselor. He has worked in the private sector as well as non-profit and community mental health, outpatient, and several residential settings, serving as both a clinician and clinical director.
His wealth of knoweldge areas allows him to assist clients with a
variety of life challenges. Costa uses 2SC office space to work with his clients.

Glenn Dillon, LCSW *

Glenn is a licensed clinical social worker providing both short and long term therapy for individuals and couples. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago. He has experience working with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues. He has worked in community mental health, outpatient, substance abuse and residential settings. Jason McVicker, LCSW *

Jason McVicker, LCSW, RDDP, is the Director of Mental Health Services for the Center on Halsted (COH), the Midwest’s largest Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender (LGBT) community center.  He worked previously as Program Supervisor at Chicago House and Social Service Agency, Inc.  While there, Jason developed programs and services to meet the evolving needs of the HIV/AIDS community.  He has a significant background in the community mental health arena, including child and adolescent treatment.  Jason served as President of Youth Network Council of Oak Park, overseeing the collaboration of more than 30 service providers to children, adolescents and their families throughout the Chicago area.  He currently serves as a Master Practitioner Instructor for the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration and is a member of the Fieldwork Advisory Board for Loyola University’s School of Social Work.  His specialty areas include LGBT issues, HIV/AIDS and facilitating healthy development across the life span.
